Science Month Celebration


          Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 28 dated September 2, 1986 and Presidential Proclamation No. 264 dated September 23, 2002. Declaring September as the National Science Month(NSCM). This celebration is conducted with the theme: "Metabolize: Nourishing Filipino Youth Towards Well-being." Science Month Celebration is not the only event in this month, there was also Intramural.

          This celebration aims to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(STEM) and a culture of innovation among the youth. It heightens the interest, awareness and appreciation of students through interactive science-related activities. It also has the purpose to give chances for Science Clubs to engage into productive and significant activities that raise awareness, interest, involvement in programs and for the projects of environment.

          Science Month is celebrated through some school activities. Some of these activities are essay writing, poster making, science quiz, and many more. One time I went to join the science quiz together with some of my classmates. It was fun and a bit ridiculous because there were so many of us that joined in that particular contest for the sake of additional points. Funny thing is, that we were all eliminated in the first round and only two remained but atleast I experienced that fun with them.

         Less than two months left to undergo my final junior high school life. I am very thankful to the teachers, students, and to everyone that make up Ilocos Sur National High School for the memorable experiences and great lessons that I have gained.         When I was a kid,  I used to have plenty of dreams, I may not even remember some of it anymore. But most those dreams were just fantasies because I was just kid before. Now, as I'm becoming older and mature, I am now more aware of my environment and becoming more realistic. Not like when I was a kid anymore, although there is still some, nonetheless I now think of realities.             I have a lot of big dreams in my life. I wanted to become either a doctor, scientist, lawyer, pilot or an engineer. But I became more realistic and said to myself that I can't be studying all of my life just to learn all of these professions, I just have to choose one.           Hi there! My full name is Marius Lorrence Alejon Padua, 16 years of age. I was born on May 13, 2003 at Metro Vigan Cooperative Hospital. Currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School ; I am a junior high school student, grade 10 student to be exact. I live at Cabanglutan, San Juan, Ilocos Sur and I ride on a bus everytime I go to school and to go home. I already practiced doing it since I was in grade 7 so there's nothing to worry about. Thanks to my parents, they pushed me to study here, instead of studying at San Juan National High School. If I don't practice to go far or away from my parents, I will have difficulties in adjusting myself when I will go to college.
