"Pandemic Ka Lang, I am Filipino"

Image
For the past months, the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease has led to global health crisis. The virus had spread around the world creating a global pandemic which we are experiencing until now. Because of this, community quarantine had to be implemented in order to prevent the further spread of the virus. Almost all of us were not used to it but we had to follow for our own sake.      Many have lost their jobs, no money to spend for food. Millions have suffered around the world, and some are still in sorrow for the sudden and unexpected death of their loved ones due to the virus. But this is not stopping us from doing the things that we do in our daily life. To everything that happened, we still have the choice to do what is right and what's best for everyone.      Amidst this global pandemic, we can still be productive by doing the things that we love or doing what's essential.  "If there'...

"Bullying"

Image
What is bullying? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bullying is an abuse and mistreatment of someone vulnerable by someone stronger or more powerful. Bullying is really dangerous for the people who are experiencing it, especially to the teens. Teens are prone to bullying because of their disabilities and imperfections. Their fellow teens are also the ones who are bullies because of their arrogance and lack of discipline.            Teenagers who are stronger and more powerful are the ones who bully their fellow teenagers that are weak and have nothing to do with it. Bullying usually happens in school and the victims are students. Bullying is really a big effect to the students who are being bullied. They can't focus on their studies and later on will have low grades. They are the one who are lonely and have few friends or maybe none. If they are continued to be bullied, they could get trauma or phobia.  ...

A School Year Full Of Experience And Lessons

Image
Less than two months left to undergo my final junior high school life. I am very thankful to the teachers, students, and to everyone that make up Ilocos Sur National High School for the memorable experiences and great lessons that I have gained. For that, I will never regret that I chose this school, thanks to my parents who had forced me. In this last quarter of my last junior high school, I always continue to learn. Everyday I am grateful that I interact with the people that I love and my friends. My relationship with my classmates and teachers got deeper as time passes by.           For my past past days, I had observed that I find it hard to get motivated on Mondays because for me, my week end is not enough.  Sometimes I overthink too often and it's kinda annoying me. I felt like I own every problem in this world, I don't know why. So sometimes, I look in a mirror and try to speak to myself and ask myself, "What is r...

"MY DREAM, MY FUTURE"

Image
When I was a kid,  I used to have plenty of dreams, I may not even remember some of it anymore. But most those dreams were just fantasies because I was just kid before. Now, as I'm becoming older and mature, I am now more aware of my environment and becoming more realistic. Not like when I was a kid anymore, although there is still some, nonetheless I now think of realities.             I have a lot of big dreams in my life. I wanted to become either a doctor, scientist, lawyer, pilot or an engineer. But I became more realistic and said to myself that I can't be studying all of my life just to learn all of these professions, I just have to choose one. Except for these, which are my ambitions, I wanted to be rich, not that crazy rich but in a way that all needs and some wants will be met. But I know that  if I just dream for it, nothing will happen. So, I have to work for it or do something 'bout it. Work hard, work s...

Change: It Starts With Me

Image
In order for me to change, I should stop doing the things that is bad for my life and avoid the things that have no connection in my improvements. Setting realistic goals is very important, even in the simplest ways can help me change. Being close to positive vibes and positive people helps me to get nearer to my goals.           Being realistic is much better than just being optimistic. Acting it out is better rather than just thinking of it. Action is the key to make or to change something because nothing will happen if I will not act or move. To change myself, I first need to make a rule for myself to follow and have an objective. I may not entirely change the whole world but I know that I can make a difference someday.          The truth is, it is possible to change the world. But to change the world, we have to change ourselves first. If everyone of us is motivated to change for the better, su...

"Time To Make Things New Again"

Image
Everything's so new this year because it's New Year! New Year has come again and it's time to make things new again. I had mistakes and regrets last year but I know that I still have time to make things right this year.           It's not only New Year that we should make things right and make things new, everyday is a new chance for us to correct our mistakes and do what is needed. I thank God that he gave me another chance to witness what will happen this 2020. Also for giving me the strength that I needed to surpass my hardships that happened to me in 2019, not only these, but I also enjoyed my 2019 and had a lot of fun with relatives.           This year, I will not promise anything to myself, instead, I will do my best to do things right and I will not waste my chances this year. I'll change for the better and try to adapt from the environment, if needed. But still, I'm just a human and I can'...

"DEEP THOUGHT"

Image
I had learned how to make Microsoft Front Page and it is my first time to encounter it. It's not that hard to do, once you master the basics, I simply just follow the instructions. When it comes to our thematic assessment, that is speech choir, I had learned many things from of it. It challenged me to give my best that I have never done before. Because of it, I had to focus in order to perform well. It thought me how to discipline myself, especially when we were having our practice. There is also a time for being serious to do things right.           Some problems that bothered me was that, most of our teachers were too busy during the third quarter. Being busy means having no class, and it happens most of the time. Some teachers can't meet us during our period when they are busy. Sometimes they need to go in a particular place because they need to and for a reason they won't be able to meet us during our period. I'll admit ...

The Essence of Christmas

Image
Every person has his own priorities, his own wants and needs. Some people choose material things, while other prefer tangible ones such as love, piece, prosperity and good health among others. We are in that special season once again, a season of joy, of peace, of great tidings. A season when we celebrate the birth of Christ the King, the redeemer of mankind! Jesus is the reason for the season .  In this month of December, it is a must for us to remember that our Lord came in this world in order to save us from our sins; He came to redeem us from the wickedness of this world.             Christmas is not all about merry making. We must also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period which is the love of God for humanity. This unquantifiable love is summed up in the popular bible verse John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, that ...

GAD VAWC

Image
Gender equality plays a crucial role in development. The Gender and Development actively promotes the advancement of women by combating the feminization of poverty through a series of GAD activities. This year, the newly-formed GAD committee has scheduled capacity-development building among NAPC staff and the basic sectors. Key activities include Gender-Sensitivity Training (GST) and Gender-Responsive Planning (GRP). This is to create gender awareness, identify gender issues, and establish a unified action plan in order to address them.           Violence against women appears as one of the country’s pervasive social problems. It is indeed alarming that despite efforts to address the concern, VAW persists. Societal norms and traditions dictate people to think men are the leaders, pursuers, providers, and take on dominant roles in society while women are nurturers. An even greater problem is the lack of concrete ...

The program enjoins students to practice waste segregation at home and bring their recyclables to school in exchange for school supplies or cash. Environmental awareness is to understand that our environment is very important and it needs to be protected. We should be aware of the consequences of our actions because every little thing that we do can affect our environment.           Our future also depends on our e...

United Towards Development

Image
This year, United Nations is entitled with the theme, "Indigenous Languages, Matter for Sustainable Development, Peace Building and Reconciliation." This theme illustrates the purpose of the United Nations this year. The theme itself describes the movement for the United Nation to be done.           As a part of the United Nations, we must be a responsible individual. Each of us has the potential to change for the better, so we must be careful on what we do because it has an impact to our community. Speaking to the theme, we must accept other's languages for us to develop ourselves as one. In order to attain reconciliation, we should respect each other's differences,             We all know that we can't achieve development only by ourselves. We need help from others so that we can improve more because the more, the merrier. They say that no man is an island, even though it's cliche but it is true. W...

"MIRRORING"

Image
Ahhh. . . .another quarter of my last Junior High School learning has come to an end. Another learning and lessons for the second quarter, lessons that cannot be identified one by one but rather as one. Yet, these things that I have learned will be intact in my head.           During the second quarter, I had some problems. One last problem about the shifting schedules but didn't bothered me much. For the last time, they changed our schedules and turned it back into regular period for us special class in grade 9 and 10. I had some hard time in adjusting myself for the schedule but not that hard and I hope that is final. Another is our thematic projects, some how I found it difficult but I'm thankful that it wasn't individual.           Projects are imperishable so I can't blame anyone for this. I just have to go on with the flow and I can't do anything but to do what is right and what should be. ...
